HIGH HORSE RADIO Ep. *262 "2020, Axl Rose, Fandom Menace, Ari Shaffir" Episode from September 2020 Yes, we are back! It is like we never left. Can't remember the right audio levels, will improve as the eps come out. Hopefully hitting them monthly, with perhaps a longer running time (two hours or so). Underground podcasts with real people with real jobs and real lives is where it is at. I mean, millionaire comedians and media pundits are cool and all, but what do they know about the daily grind and the simple anonymous unsung existence that we all experience? Nothing! They don't care about you, your life or the life of the ordinary person. All they care about is their vanity and their precious money.
We here at the High Horse are unique, in that we are sophisticated but rough, fearful but tough, ordinary but also kinda not, butt ugly but also kinda hot. Are we the funniest smartest edgiest podcast out there? Hell no. Are we listenable? sometimes.
So why listen? Because we do not claim to be anything that we are not. We can keep you company while you do other shit. We'll cover shitloads of interesting topics from history, psychology, culture, but not in an arty pretentious way, and not in a 'we're so dumb we never research and just talk shit' kinda way. We know our shit, we have read shitloads of books, watched shitloads of tv, movies and documentaries and travelled extensively, so it isn't gonna be overly lowbrow, but we're also not winning the nobel prize anytime soon.
You know what, I am tired of trying to convince you. Go and listen to Rogan or NPR or some shit. We don't want you. Hope you enjoy!

Our stand up comedy loving entertainment enthusiast from way back gives a tribute to the godmother of stand up comedy, as the legendary Mitzi Shore passes away. For those who might not no she was the owner of the comedy store on sunset boulevard and is responsible for grooming a who's who of comedy greats, Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, David Letterman, Jay Leno, Gary Shandling, Ari Shaffir, Joey Diaz and so so many more. I highly recommend going down a rabbit hole of Mitzi stories, she was a legendary woman, a character like no other, a tough old gal excelling in a mans world (70's, 80's era of stand up comedy). So the following episode ain't your usual production of HHR. This show features JDot bringing you a solo podcast fresh of the heals of his recent successful audition to play a dad in a TV news "reenactment" series that airs in Japan. Come listen as our resident entertainment enthusiast tells of his experience in auditioning for the part of a dead beat, trailer park type, who is one of the worlds true monsters. If you google "The Girl In The Closet" you will read of one of the worst tales of child abuse, in which the child did NOT die. At eight years old when she was finally rescued after six years of some of the most unthinkable treatment, she weighed only 25.6 pounds, that's the average weight of a two year old. During six key years for growth and development she was deprived of nourishment and stimulation. In seeking to portray this character, this pig fucking parasite, the Dot had to venture down to terrible town and research these truely disturbing humans. And in doing so was brought to tears by the undeniably sad story. There is a silver lining to this episode in the form of J to the D to the O to the T telling of his experiences at the audition, on set and all points in between. It's a sad day for not only his family but the world at large, because music inspires and transcends, Fred Nations is a product of the 90s music/grunge scene, having grown up inspired by his masterful skills on the guitar, accompanied by a voice that was undeniable in it's nearly four-octave vocal range and uniqueness. A pioneer of the grunge movement with the iconic album "Superunknown" as well as a resume that could only be rivalled by the true giants of the industry both past and present. Chris Cornell 1964-2017 RIP..... { Hey Fred Nation here, Dot just text me to ask if I wanted to add stuff about Cornell, but I think he did a good job. This was the music i grew up to, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots...Kurt Cobain died in 1994, Layne Stayley in 2002, Scott Weiland in 2015 and now Chris Cornell in 2017. We had a video out for close to two years now and only a month ago it was taken down, an email was sent saying that it was basically our 1st strike and that if you total three strikes you are indeed ban from YouTube. Now our video was some what controversial, it was titled "Was Winston Churchill Racist?", and ran for a duration of roughly 10mins. It featured mainly Churchill, with the panel weighing in on some of this legendary man's quotes from way back when. Yeah sure we may have piled on from time to time, but basically the content was not much different from every previous episode EVER RELEASED EVER!!. It's essentially the same as majority of our videos posted on YouTube. So I guess it's just disappointing that our show was flagged for "hate speech" being as the level of crazy and often offensive material that can be found out there in internet town. Anyways enough about that s#*t, who really cares what some easily offended small minded person has to say about anything? not I said the fly. I realise fly's don't actually talk but it just kinda worked in this instance..... We also delve into the interesting subject of "googling" Islam. It's ironic that this episode is called "white privilege" being as this show that you know as High Horse Radio is an example of exactly that.....pre middlescent white men talking about all the things in the world that bother them...boo hoo... This show features the volatile fruit and vegetable enthusiast that is Andy Establishment, alongside the semi retired epic story teller that is Phoenix Ppardoshe, don't forget our resident mafia and comedy historian, the loveable addict JDot, and of course last and certainly least (just kidding Fred) it's our paid musician and your host for the evening, it's Fred Nations!!, the "BIG FOUR" ladies and gentleman... "10 ways to actively reject your white privilege" is the headlineing topic that starts this incredibly entertaining free flowing conversation here on episode *160 of HHR. Andy Establishment wastes no time on this one explaining that he has no "white guilt", it has all been swept away, all that he has left is white pride. To which the three remaining members of the panel, all gasp in unison, not an easy task to accomplish. Would there be repercussions if you were a middle age white man wearing a shirt that says "white privilege"?. I think so?. Micro aggresions were unbeknownst to the majority of the panel (the actual definition that is), so what do they do? get to the bottom of it of course, in the informative and entertaining way that only High Horse Radio can provide. Siting next to fat people on airplanes, huge mother fuckers I'm saying, so yeah, we discuss that. Nike brings out there very first "hijab", a righteous act if ever there was one...not!!. Watching sex scenes in the company of your parents...awkward!. Billy Moore (a former rugby league player) can't escape "QUEENSLANDER!!!", a phrase uttered many decades ago which still follows him today. Andy says he's become the modern day Groot. The debut of a new segment called "Phoenix Tales" - The first tale being one of losing your pants in front of an audience at a supermarket. The next being that of dabbling in the world of banging a fat chick, only to be to embarrassed to show his mates due to the relentless barrage of "shit" that he would of copped from his buddies (old friends not us) at that time. The final tale for this debut is that of a traffic incident that involves Phoenix, a motorbike, and a piece of shit driver that deserved every bit of ridicule that ensued. A preview of said ridicule is Phoenix putting his arms around the piece of shit drivers wife's shoulder and saying "don't worry love it's ok, it's just your husband couldn't drive a greasy stick up a dogs ass". Dot points makes it's first appearance in quite some time - Did you know that the orca Keiko, from the movie "free willy" was actually set free back into the wild some years later, only to come back into shore often in the hopes of seeking human contact. Research has found that the human brain sees women as parts, while men are seen as a whole. Henry Rollins is a fascinating character leading a fascinating life. Smoking weed at concerts should be tolerated no matter what, concert officials should turn a blind eye is what I'm saying. People should be able to partake in the joy of smoking a little joint, if their brains are fully matured that is. Establishment gets annoyed at how mother's automatically get the right of way because they have a "precious" kid, everyones precious not just your kid. To have children, or to not have children, an especially big decision not to be taken lightly. A hypothetical involving "Byronism", (which is Andy Establishments dictatorship) if you have an IQ below 90 you get a year to bring that number up, if you fail, well, eugenics is the cure and you deserve to be rooted out. which countries have the lowest IQ's?. Why is that homosexuality, bacon and tattoo's are looked down upon in the bible?.....infection yo!. Fred Nations tells of how he likes the "vibe" of the bible, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little. Africa and the chances of dying while being there. Jewish history, Fred Nations says that the Jewish people played a part in the renaissance and enlightenment in Europe and Italy, after mass exiting the Arab world. Andy Establishment argues our fruit and vegetable eating host on this point. We then move on to Isis and establish that this extreme faction of muslim culture is the result of sixty plus generations of inbreeding. We discovered then discussed how artificial intelligence has a racial bias, if you google "white teens", then "black", the images that first appear are opposite ends of the spectrum to say the least, AI is racist!!. The internet can be a dark place, be careful is what we here at High Horse Radio are saying, be smart about your social media use and intake. "A day without women" gets broken down in a raw and honest type of way. Drone causes 1500 elk to stampede. Isis finally has fire power in the air, in the form of drones. Conspiracy theories - 9/11 forever a debated mystery???. There is, believe it or not, such a thing as the "flat earth society". And do you know that people actually deny the existence of dinosaur's. I mean ignoring evolution and scientific fact, come on world?! it's how you know that our flawed species ain't gonna make it. Fred Nations and Andy Establishment tell of getting scared (like little school girls) watching M Night Shyamalans movie "The Visit". Scary movie experiences from the panel follow.
